Nostromo space tug
Posted by stick52 on Friday, December 28, 2007 3:57 PM
I am considering scratch building the Nostromo space tug from the first Alien movie. (The section that landed on the planet. Not the section that remained in orbit.) So far I haven't been able to find any good pictorial info. I imagine any 3 views or working drwaings that were used by the studio model makers are all copyright protected. Or are in private collections or lost.
I have found some CG views but they aren't even consistent.
Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.

There were a couple of books published, I imagine long since out of print, that had some good design pictures of the Nostromo.  One was the Book of Alien, and the other was the Alien Movie Novel which was a book that had stills from the movie and essentially told the story sans the moving pictures.

Get the 9 DVD set there are extensive pieces of footage of the studio model being hoisted around on a forklift. the model was MASSIVE!

good luck! The Nostromo was one of the coolest, most believeable (as far as I am concerned!) peices of space use hardware yet
