[PART 1]
So while I'm waiting for the other set of 1/78 wheel parts to arrive [this is for the 1/100 Gundam Trailer kit] I've decided to build this GM conversion kit since I got MG Gundam v1.5 kit on sale. This B-Club conversion resin kit consisted of replacement leg parts, head, waist, hatch and front/rear skirt parts. The rest are from v1.5 kit.
Here you can see the single page instruction sheet for the conversion kit.
The build up is fairly straight forward. Just build v1.5 kit per its own instruction - that means arms and leges are to be built minus some armour parts.
One tricky part would be snap fitting the front section of groin section which is resin and the back part from the injection kit.
Also it is advisable to use brass rod to connect the rear skirt to the part that will be glued to the rear section of groin part. It's best to use AC and leave for overnight to be safe. Also it'd be good idea to put the new polly joint for the front skirt at the same time.
Once done the rest are straight forward as snap fitting the remaining parts. Though for good fitting you will need a lot of small adjustments - i.e. sanding/carving/trimming and etc.
Initially I put the spare ver.KA feet parts from my junk part but after seeing that this conversion is quite faithful to the original GM illustration I've decided to switch back to the feet from v1.5 kit. Also I used the spare B-Club HDM hands from the junk box though I've yet to find the hand suitable in holding the beam spray gun. Its grip is too thin and slippery and without some modification no hand will be able to hold it properly. I'm seriously considering to modify the side skirt in order to mount it there like MG GM kit.
While working on this kit I also found my old stash of B-Club HGUC style arm replacement parts for MG Gundam v1.5 and thought this would be the good time to use since I wasn't happy with the skinny arms in v1.5 kit.
This arm resin kit has fairly simple parts breakdown and the downside I guess is the poseability. As you can see in below instruction sheet the elbow mobility is fairly limited though it won't matter much since I'm not building this GM v1.5 to have the wide variety of mobility - maybe I will come up with some improvement in this department before finishing it.
And now some pictures I've taken during pre-assembly stages...
It's just rough build up to see the area where I can do some improvement~
[for example I'm still considering whether to use v1.0 chest armour instead of 1.5 part...]
