I finished this one & slave 1 awhile ago. I'm just new to model forum. I've been reading the post and replies for sometime and thought why not pull some models off the shelf and let the world see can't hurt. My Klingon bird of prey also done. Later I'll take some photos of that

Buddho:

$27.08 in 2007 dollars.

Whoa! That was quick. You must have skills, you know, like Jedi skills... Smile [:)]

I gotta say rysh4, I like what you do w/ those old kits. I've become such a modeling snob in my old age, it's nice to see someone do good work w/o needing all the bells and whistles.

The new pictures were very helpful.

Anybody know what $8 in 1978 converts to in 'real' dollars today?

True, sometimes it's more fun just to build the model.

Thanks.

I know I'm being redundant, but I second everything KTM just posted. PLU 1 too, for that matter.

I remember when I bought that first AMT X-Wing at Woolworth's for $8, a scandalous amount back then. Times have changed.

Anybody know what $8 in 1978 converts to in 'real' dollars today?

I like the paintjob on the model. Care to share w/ us the techniques you used?

Yeah,  remember when? I have written on my M. Falcon post that some of the new models are way too over priced for what you are getting. And I've been building models for 30+ years, so I have seen a few things. But nothing will make me spent $50.00 to $200.00 on a model.

Dude! I totally feel ya on that. BTW, great work. I don't see anything at all wrong with OOB kit builds. Sometimes you just want to build the darned thing and don't want to count rivets and go overboard on the *accurate* details.

Thanks.  And yes, I remember when you could buy a model, glue and paint for under $10 or 15 euros.
