Blue Squadron WIP
Posted by ssgkopp on Saturday, May 17, 2008 7:14 PM
Well over the last few days I have built one of these each night. Hit them with primer then a custom grey i started to mask. This is where im at now. Have some masking mistakes and run offs to fix then i can start having fun.

Have to go and do the pipes and such. These will all be in a little dio together on a bombing run with the fighter escort above.

Blue squadron is one of the most elite squadrons out there when it comes to lighting fast bombing strikes against the Empire. One of the few squadrans that have the fighters and Bombers integrated.

Lookin good! Keep up the good work! Thumbs Up [tup]
Some people spend their whole lives wondering if they made a difference. Gundams don't have that problem.

Well before my afternoon Lawnathon I got the pipes done. One is done is rust and the other in burnt iron. It looks black but it really isnt. Once they get weathered it will look really good. Some more touch ups here and there then I start scraping some blue away in places to make it look worn.

thx for looking

Not much progress but i did distress the paint some.  It will really come together during the weathering.  Going to hit them with a gloss clear coat tomorrow and start decals and a wash. then dullcoat them and hit them with  some dirt. Sorry about the crappy pics Ill get better ones.

Well i can see the end nearing.   Today i hit all the fighters with Metalizer sealer, it drys fast and is just like using a gloss clear for decals and wash.  I hit all three with  a black grey sludge wash and went back over each one with Q-tips and wet paper towel(you know the drill)

Once that was dry I hit the with Dullcoat and then went to work with three different ssets of Tamiya weathering packs.

Still have to finish the base and the pilots. These will be done by SUnday as Im fishing all day tomorrow.

Thx for the comments and looking  Almost done!!

I have the fighters all done with their pilots and R2s. The base started as a pic frame.  Sealed one side with styrene then filled it with plaster then topped it with more styrene. Now i will go and greeblie (sp?) the s*** out of it to make it look like a mechnical platform of some sort that the three fighters will be flying over.

well a couple hours of sticking stuff and bending here is where i am at.

It looks bare in some places but will fil in with paint and weathering.

Imagine the flight of Blue squadron far above it target and you are looking down at it from the flights level like old B-17 bomb footage.  This is what this should look like.
