My bad. I thought I saw a Kaempfer around here that someone was using the MS bells on. Could be another site I was haunting...

I didn't use their turster bells, at the moment I am content with painting the included thrusters silver

Thanks to the guys at Mechaskunk for the aftermarket parts.  I used the snake chain for the replacement of those plastic, molded into the neck piece tubes.  I used the Mesh chain for the chain around the waist, I used MG sized metal beamsaber holders (Even though there really big compared to the kaempfer's normal ones)  and I used the 4.44 mono eye and red lense of that same size.

It's on the elbow.  I just took the elbow joint out, painted it again.  I am going to keep it de-constructed untill everything has a clear coat on it and It's ready to be displayed.

Now the problem I have run into, is that I dont have any kinds of tools to cut these metal chains I got aftermarket from Mecha Skunk, I cant find my needle nosed plyers with the wire cutter blade on it.  So untill then I cant do the neck bit, or the waist chain.

Dj898:

Here's the abandended project where I was trying the Patlabor colour scheme.
Also tried the metal finish on few areas which imho looked quite nice~
Hope this of some help, mate~ ^ ^

That looks pretty sweet. Nice shading. How come you gave up on it?

stv:

I have run into a bad problem... the frame has gotten a extremly bad habbit recently, whch is to grab the blue from the armor and smear it on the joints.  all the paint is dry, I dunno why its doing this, its really buggin me

What kind of paints are you using? Is it like a dry/scratch type of transfer, or something else?

Good thing about the Kaempfer is the orange parts always fit into a holder so you can take them out, a few I had to drill a hole in the back to get it ouit, but they all come out. so its simple painting the engine and the holder

I actually like the metal color more than the yellow-orange. I've been working on a Kaempfer off and on for a while now, and I think I'm gonna paint mine a burnt metal / jet exhaust color.

Any advice when painting them?

Looks good man.  I really liked those drilled out holes, they do look better than black dots.  I look forward to seeing more of this as its finished.

If at first you do succeed, try to hide your astonishment.

one of the challange when it comes to Kampfer is fixing the seam line at the back of calf. It has that big seam line right in the middle. Good luck with your build~

I, in a pattern you can see by my last gundam WIP, I am tired of seeing the sheen of bare plastic on my shelves.  So I have decided to do up my Kaempfer.  This time, as you will see in the pics, I have decided to do some slight modifications.  At this time it is only opening the vent holes, instead of just painting them black, with my Dremel.  I am considering buying some after market parts for this, like a mono eye, aluminuminium beam saber, maybe a resin weapon
