Yes, the little monster is badass in stargazer, right up until the stargazer kicks his @$$. And if you couldnt tell from my prfile pic I love this guy(the one in my pic is a custom paint by meCool [8D])

Some people spend their whole lives wondering if they made a difference. Gundams don't have that problem.

I think I want the cardboard lightbox because a small lamp on top will make it nice and bright.  I have terrible lighting around my place and my gilfriends place (where I do most of my modeling) so I thought it would be cool to try.  And I can walk you through it if you want on Flickr.  Justlet me know sometime and I'll write up a walkthrough.

Cool. I don't know Flickr, I'll have to get you to show me how.

For backdrops, I just went to Meier's and brought a sheet of white poster board. I propped it against an angled surface (in this case inside my airbrush box). The curve of the paper gives the illusion of a large empty space. Then I just sat the model on it and snapped away. You could probably do it anywhere you have adequate light: your computer desk, modeling space, etc. Cheap and easy.

I think that Strike Noir is glaring at me, like maybe he knows something...

Ok so I learned how to do it from Flickr.  The available sizes are a little big or a little small so I opted for big.

CJ: I hear ya on the background.  I thought taking them in front of their boxes would look cool, but it came out too busy.  I'm going to build the cardboard lightbox GameraBaenra has a tutorial for.  Its really easy and I think it'll help my photos.  SO for everyone who was too lazy to click the links(I dont blame you BTW, that gets annoying), here they are.  Comments are always welcome (yes I know the Gouf is sloppy)

Those are pretty neat, especially the Strike Noir. You should pose him in front of a solid color background, he'd be easier to see.

SG:

I still cant figure out how to post them on here.  Can someone let me in on the secret?

I load all my photos into Photobucket:

http://photobucket.com/

Once there, I Edit them to Message Board size (640 x 480). I usually save a copy, instead of replacing the original.

Then, I click on the IMG code, and Copy/Paste it into my post.

There are no doubt other (and perhaps easier) ways to do it, that's just the method I use. I hope that helps.

Here are my two SDs: The Grappler Gouf and the Strike Noir.  Both are hand painted with Tamiyas.  No masking, so I'm especially proud of the black and red under the Strike's eyes because the yellow red and black parts of the eye are all on one piece.  Grappler is kind of sloppy, but I was learning to hand paint and the little buggers are really small.  And I learned a good lesson in planning out which seam lines need to be filled BEFORE I paint. The Gouf sucked OOB.  Its only 3 colors and the shield and sword are completely yellow, which makes no sense.  Almost no poseability.  The Noir is the complete opposite.  The Polycaps are like an HG.  Its got most of the poseability of an HG, just no knees.  And he comes with a boatload of weapons which I tried to show here.

That should work, I still cant figure out how to post them on here.  Can someone let me in on the secret?
