SG:

...the thing I really like about this suit is it looks like a mobile suit and you dont know how big the guy is next to that tree until you see the front and see a persons face looking out at you.  The figure inside the suit has always been a cool surprise to someone like me who is tottaly used to watching giant mecha cartoons.

Yeah, I really like the figures too. It's that human aspect that makes them appeal to me so much. I try to build all my models w/ crew, I think they are more visually interesting that way. You kinda feel for the guy, all cooped up in his armor like that.

Where do you get your display bases?

This particular one is a ‘clock round' that I brought at a Michael's craft store. I stained it w/ Minwax Walnut wood finish, and then I sealed it w/ three coats of Minwax clear satin polyurethane from a spray can. I gave it a light sanding between coats so that it would be nice and smooth.

The dirt is Woodland Scenics' Mold-a-Scene Plaster, on an Evergreen sheet styrene circle to help hold it together (and to cover the hole in the clock round).

Looks good J.  I really like the ground cover, it looks very natural.  And the thing I really like about this suit is it looks like a mobile suit and you dont know how big the guy is next to that tree until you see the front and see a persons face looking out at you.  The figure inside the suit has always been a cool surprise to someone like me who is tottaly used to watching giant mecha cartoons.  Great build man.  Where do you get your display bases?

If at first you do succeed, try to hide your astonishment.

Thank you.

They are 1/20 scale, which I think translates to about 90mm. This guy stands about 4 inches tall.

The newer Wave kits are supposed to be a little bigger, but I haven't built any of those. Yet. Big Smile [:D]

This is my Armored Fighting Suit Mk.I, in 1/20 scale. Its kit number 3 in Nitto's Maschinen Krieger series.

Mostly box stock, I used brass tube to make a new gun barrel and fingers.

The tree and rocks are resin accessories from Armand P. Bayardi and the ground cover is from Hudson & Allen Studios.

Not much else to add really. I was experimenting w/ the airbrush, and this is what I got.

Comments and criticism welcome.
