Ok I saw your other post about this Zimmerit stuff.  I've never heard of it but I saw your attemp at making it and all I can say is no thanks.  I'm not gonna even attempt to do what you did with that soldering iron.  I can see nightmares of my dog jumping up and suddenly I have a huge scar across my Magella.  Too risky for me to try.

If at first you do succeed, try to hide your astonishment.

I think I've changed my mind on the AC piece for now.  I was looking it up on White Wizard Toys website and they are like 6 inches tall but 300 pieces.  I just dont feel like dealin with that many little bits right now.  I think I'll do one of the EX ships line for this in addition to whatever I decide get mecha wise.  Maybe the Magella Tank cause it comes in a pack of two so I could keep one Zeon Green and do the other in Axis colors.

I'm in.  Haven't participated in one of these before so i figure it's about time.

I was also thinking about the raiden, but I'd have to get a spare.  The one I have is set for straight-from-the-show appearance.  For those who are unfamiliar with it, it's from the anime "Gasaraki."  I have the series on dvd and it has an interesting "what if" element about mecha in a near-future battlefield.  The first few shows include a battle sequence of the other guys' mecha tearing into a formation of Bradleys.

The other, more whimsical option I'm thinking about is an EVA Unit 02 in a German armor camo pattern.  I figure it would be an interesting change from the usual bright red.

What the heck, maybe i'll do both.Big Smile [:D]

a year is more then enough time to choose a kit, get an idea, and build it.

CJ that Raiden Armor looks cool.  I've never heard of it before, but if you get it you've got to let us know how it is cause I'd get it if it's good.  And it's not expensive either.

ok guys, heres the dirt.

First of those two kits, I dont know the second one, the raiden armor.  the first one is a Gundam Hard Graph kit.  There 1/35 and fall together like simlified WWII armor kits.  While they are snap together they are only guildes, so more gluing then normal bandai kits.  The figures are nicley molded.  The anti Ms team has some really nice poses in it.

As far as armored core goes.  The kits are extremly nice to look at, but to build, they are hell, tons of really tiny pieces all over the place.

as far as having fun for you on the 4th, Will do!  I'm a bell ringer for the 4th celebration in wilmington.

I went to Parris Island of course! LoL! As for what my job or MOS as we call it, I am a 2147, for those who dont know what that is its an Light Armored Vehicle mechanic, or just simply an LAV mech.

I am going to take the time to figure out just what I want to do for this GB and what posible color sceams I can come up with. also I am going to slap the 1\100 Over Flag from Gundam 00 that I got a few months back. And yes I'm a bingin the camera so as I can document it all. Lets see how far I can get done on this kit in just 3-4 days.Big Smile [:D]

I'm cool with that.  I was hoping the deadline wouldn't be like sept 1st.  I cant wait to pick out something.  What about kits that aren't obviously good or bad?  Like Armored Core?  Can you just pick a side and declare which one you want?

I watched an army ad, and I got the distinct impression that they were talking about 'combat missions in space' So it doesnt seem that it is that far of a stretch that we would have space fighters.

Anyhow, why dont we start it sooner.  This kit I am working on could EASILY be made into a Axis kit (I'm doing a zimmerit thing with a gundam) and I wouldnt mind doing it.  I dont want to finish it before the start deadline though.

OK, how does this sound,

Build starts off on 7\15\08 and runs until 7\15\09.

Rules are as follows, kit may not be started already when build begins- must be new or just one in your stash that you had been meaning to build but didnt have a plan for yet.

For what ever story your kit is from, good guys= Allies, Bad guys= Axis(not the gundam Axis. sorryWink [;)]).

Post WIP and keep updated. once you decide on a kit let whoever ends up posting the GB know so they can put it on the front page of our GB thread.

May join at any time as long as you folow the rules and are finished by the end date.

GB logo may be posted in Signature box AFTER completion of kit. also more than one kit is aceptable as long as you can finish all on time.

Did I leave anything out that you all wanted to add? If so let me know.

Jason

How much time do we all need to get our kits together? Me personaly, I can get whatever kit I choose rather quick considering how close all my hobby stores are to the base over here. as for those of us who dont know what WWII colors are, thats what this site and Google are for.Big Smile [:D]

I agree.  Shows like Star Wars and Star Trek assume that to get that level of technology the world would have to be working together for the resources, or else that we would have to reach that level before we wouldn't just kill ourselves with the technology.  But no one shaows what it would be like at first.  I mean we could have space fighters in 50 years or a little more.  But we certainly won't have put all our differences aside and made one big nation by then.  So space fighters in country colors would be awesome.

If at first you do succeed, try to hide your astonishment.
