Jake, Growing up on the south shore of Long Island, I remember too many times, rebuilding, or repairing, after the passing of yet another hurricane. Hope all went well for you this time, and there's no extensive recovery needed.

Lead me not into temptation ..................I can find it myself

Jake:

Over here in South Mississippi, we are also watching the storm closely. They say the low lying areas over here will get a lot of Katrina like flooding as we are on the right side of the storm. That figures. I am on high ground here in West Biloxi so we should be okay here if the wind does not get too bad.

Here in South Mississippi, we have finally started to get a few things squared away after the beating we took from Katrina and now this. Hopefully, this thing will be here and gone quickly so we can get started on the clean up. Good luck and see you on the flip side.

This is getting kind of old, isn't it, Jake? Good luck and good move getting full coverage on your insurance.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

Hi folks,

This is Jake Groby AKA modelman, just wanted to drop you a line to say hi and I'll probably be off line for a few weeks or so.  According to all the best weather info it looks like were going to get it again.  Our new home in Lacombe (north of Lake Ponchartrain) which is 11-12ft. above sea level is expected to get 6-8 ft. of water as well as our older town of Chalmette. Also all of New Orleans, St. Bernard Parish, etc.

My family is out of harms way and I HAVE FULL and MAXIMUM flood and home owners coverage so we'll just build farther and height next time.  The only real female dog I have is that I'll probably loose the modelshop AGAIN as well as the 1960 GMC (GEEZ THAT'S HURTS!)

The best estimates on this storm is such that they fully expect the Mississippi River to spill over it's banks up river as far as Gretna (Just north of New Orleans.. So that means the levee will be over topped and we'll get flooded from the riverside also.  There have not been any time I can remember of being shook up over the weather, But if the Mississippi River Levee washed out due to overtopping and a scouring effect and it breached.  The entire power of the Mississippi will literally flatten everything in it path.

This may make the damage from Katrina look easy.

My contact numbers are the following, although I don't expect the phones to works for several weeks be that as it may.

Jake's Cell 504-881-0265

Office 504-271-1681

Dee's Cell: 504-237-7491

Dee's Moms house where my family is at:225-294-2434

I would not normally put the numbers out but many folks wanted a way to contact us after the water goes down.

If we get the full wireless sat internet I'll check in when I can, But until then, God Bless and Good Luck.

Jake Groby
