ok folks,

just pure speculation, but with the up and coming Italeri 1/35 S-100 and the advances in moulding techniques and technology who would like to see a 1/35 U-boat VIIc or VIIc/41 on the market and what features/details would you like to see?

oh! what other 1/35 ship/submarine/midget sub would you love to have a go at??

Andrea Miniatures made a 1:35 scale Type VII U-Boat.   It is out of production due to its excessive price and excessive size.   The last price I have on it is 2183,91 E (the north side of 3000 USD).   The thing is 1.97 meters in length (6'3").

Andrea continues to sell just a conning tower section for the boat

Andrea's 1/32 U-Boat is still listed on their site, in the limited production section. I suppose that if you ask nicley and have the money to wave at them they'll get the molds out!

While Andrea's intentions were bold and a great idea. White metal, resin & fibreglass and a retail price of 1700 Euros (Andreas website) makes it a prohibitive purchase and due to the mediums used of not much interest to modelers. It's an exterior detailed "model" of 185 pieces - Don't the 1/72 scale revell U-Boats have more pieces?

I suppose that Andrea's U-Boat could be R/C fitted?

They certainly used expensive stuff to produce it, which affects the price. While "normal" modeling plastic would have done there is the size to consider, which does bring to mind More internal hull bracing chaps which would stiffen up the hull no end. Those that have built the recent PT boat from Italeri and other large scale boats (including the Revell U-Boats) will say.... if you can't see inside, brace the sucker!

Despite the size a 1/35 Uboat would come out at (approx 6 feet) options for cutouts and interior details would, for those with room to display a superb looking kit, with excellent diorama options.

A 1/35 Type VIIC/41 would be really sweet! Cool [8D]

The detail would be incredible.But...Where would you park that beast?

Personally,I'd really like to see more injection molded 1/35 Viet Nam Era "Brown Water" craft (Monitors,ASPB's,Swift Boats,etc...).
