Oh, man, that pains me. I lived in Galveston for awhile and can well imagine what it must be like there now. I was hoping they'd had the sense to try and move the Elissa, at least to Houston. I had the pleasure of going on one of her day sails, many moons ago, which included a memorable climb up the mainmast, among other things.

Boy,

I'll just bet thre were some hairy moments if anyone stayed aboard, might have even been FUN! I wonder how much lead on her ropes they gave the old girl to ride it out?

I saw this in  a collection of photo's from Galveston.  I don't know why they did not stow the sails.  Anyway, at least she is floating.
