Secondary armament for Trumpeter Hood?
Posted by Gordon234 on Sunday, September 21, 2008 8:25 AM
Hello everyone!
I am just about to take my first tentative steps in constructing this 1/350 model, and am quite looking forward to it! I am planning to buld the Hood as flagship of the Mediterranean Fleet in the late 1930's, in that beautiful light grey paint (which I will order from White Ensign Models).
Now, I would like to know if there are any recently released aftermarket sets for the secondary armament that would have been on this battlecruiser in the the time period that I have chosen, but were later removed before World War 2. ( I have the main Gold Star photo etch aftermarket detailling set, but it does not have any of these gun mounts, although everything else seems to be included! ) If not, I'll still build the Hood in this interwar time period, since it will still look good to me, which is what counts in modelling. Nevertheless, it would be good to fill in those secondary gun openings, if possible.
Thanks for any info / leads you can provide me with. Happy modelling!

White Ensign Models do exactly what you are looking for in resin.

WEM 1/350 RN 5.5" BL Mk I on Mk II Mount (Reference #PRO 3516)
Fitted as secondary armament in HMS Hood until her 1940 refit. Contains 4 mounts.
