Not really new. I reviewed it in May 2006 here. The kit was originally produced by Skywave, later Pit-Road. DML bought the molds and added a lower hull and reissued it. It went OOP for a time and came back as a premium edition kit with new PE. An SG radar base was also added to the main sprue. This tiny little part was my first contribution to Dragon kits. is that ship in the same class as the Atlanta and Juneau?

15-20 seconds for each ship on google would answer that question. Search "CL san diego navsource" to find out what class she was, then do the same for the other two and you're set.

See Steve Backer's review on SteelNavy

http://www.steelnavy.com/DMLSanDiego.htm

"Verdict
Dragon provides a vast number of parts in their Premium Edition kit for USS San Diego. However, only about 40% to 50% of the parts are used as Dragon has included upgraded, more detailed parts for some items, as well as older parts found in the previous Atlanta release. A brand-new photo-etch fret designed for this kit and new decal sheet are also very significant upgrades that add detail to the Premium Edition. The Atlanta class has always been popular and with the array of different AA guns and radar, almost any fit of the ships of the class can be duplicated."
