What is the opinion of the FFG-7?  I'm thinking that might be better, looking at the side profile of the hull.  Only discrepancy is the plan view of the hull in comparison to the plan view of the FFG-7.

With a somewhat more pointed stern added on it could pass for a very good forshortened

Germam battleship Tirpitz or Bismark!  modelbob@hotmail.com

Really?  Gee, I never thought of that!  LOL!

I have been checking out different ships, and I'm thinking along the lines of a BB, more than likely a USN BB.

Why?  Well, as I said before in another thread, it's what I always wanted as a kid.  I'm no kid anymore, but now disabled and have plenty of time to spend on it.

I was just curious---not sure how accurate you want the finished model to be...the shape of the hull does somewhat remind me of a MO class BB, but it will need to be waterline since the boat doesn't have a deep enough draught...

Are you looking to make a remote control ship---why the large scale?

Ok, I have the pics from a sales website that does the newer versions of the boat.

3D view.

Side view.

Top view.

The one I got is older and more basic.  All the better I think, gives me more I can work with instead of the molded interior.

I have reached Stage two- I obtained a hull to use for the ship model I'm working on.  That is clearly 7/8 of the fight!  The side view of the hull is not impressive, nort anywhere near close.  But the top view, excited my imagination!

Looking at thetop view, what ship do you guys feel this would be more suited to?  I am thinking that if it's a warship, likely the Iowa class battleship.  But I have considered going something like a Bulk Freighter, as well.

What does the top view tell you?   Yes it's a 16' Coleman Scanoe.  Hell, whynot?  It's the hull!

ETA, don't have the pics of the hull up yet, but for those that have seen a Scanoe, maybe you understand.  I will get those pics up later.
