Since my building area is a tiny part of the kitchen table, and the storage area is the top of the adjacent bookcase, only one "project" at a time ... but in this case the project includes (all in 1/700) a Haskell-class AKA, 110-foot subchaser and fishing trawler; and the companion dock with all its buildings, railroad tracks and cars, trucks, people, etc. All fitting in a 9x4 Imex case (I have a cat, enough said). Sooooooooooooo ... one project but in reality at least seven separate models if include just the major pieces - ships, buildings and dock.

Only on kit at a time,no matter what it is...........for me it's a hobby, not a production line,I stick with one kit till it's either done or once in a while in the garbage, then I start the next. Not saying anybody's wrong, just the way I do it.

Well...hmmm. I have only to put the anchors and chains, screws and shafts on my N. Carolina, as well as paint,  but she is basically done, but not really...so..
I also have my 1944 Missourri started. So technically, two.

Both 1/350th by the way. I can't afford anything new and I don't really have a stash, so I am taking my time.

Due to space limitations I only do one at a time. On the bench: Midship Models  U.S.S. Cleveland being modified as U.S.S. Dayton CL105.

at the momment...

old revell PT boat

Dragon 1:350 USS Kidd

old monogram Nimitz

and couple RUFEs 1:48 seaplanes

I stop for various reasons, mostly technical (need X or Y tool/paint, have to research how to do A, B).

I also build for relaxation; if a current build needs some complex scratchbuild something and Im not in the mood,Ill just wash some sprues or sand something else.

At least!  I guess I am something of a 'model ship whore,' as I have a huge stockpile of ship (and WW1 aircraft!) models in various states of build (and once in a while, I actually FINISH one!).  Sometimes I wish I had more discipline in this area, but actually, I'm not really that fussed about finishing these kits, as I primarily use the kits for 'compare and contrast' on ship designs, and once a kit is 'finished,' there really isn't much more you can do with it besides put it on the shelf.......  I also have several kits on hand that I uses to test painting techniques, assembly techniques, gluing techniques, etc.  These are generally low-quality kits that I have had batting around for a long time that I don't mind screwing up (you don't want to 'experiment' too much on a kit costing up to $200!!), and these will most likely never be 'finished.'
