Looking for a book, that descirbes build of Revell USS Constitution 1/96

You may be thinking of "How to Build Plastic Ship Models" by Les Wilking, ISBN: 0-89024-552-5. It was published by Kalmbach k Books in 1980; and is out of print. It cost $6.25 in 1980; but if you find it, you may have to pay ten times that! Try eBay or Google it.

It is an excellent book, 64 pages, soft cover, in large book format. Wilking uses the Constitution to build his version of the President.

You can get a used copy at Amazon.com for around $25.  I picked one up there about a year ago.  Had an original issue copy back in the 80's, but not sure what happened to it.

thank you for your hint! I ordered the book via amazon. Someone offered a used version. Its expansive compared to the original price - but I want to get it. I need some inspriation and heard a lot of praising ...

I, too, find the Wilkins book to be excellent.  I lucked out . . . I bought mine when it was first published for $6.95.  It has been a staple reference for decades!

Along these lines . . . I believe that this book has been surpassed by the latest Kalmbach books on ship modelling EXCEPT for sailing ships! Kalmbach has ignored this subject; it is time they published such a book to contemporary standards.  And, having seen pictures of his work, I can think of no better author that JTilley!

This isthe same book I have and it is not the Constitution they are building but a similair sister ship.  It is basically the same ship except they talk about a couple of modifications.  I have used it to help build the USS United States which is another sister ship tothe Constitution and also by Revell.  I find some instruction a little confusing.
