Tamiya Japanese Cruiser question...
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, November 7, 2008 8:10 PM

Are these kits based on the re-tooled "Mogami" mold?:

TAM31343 Japanese Heavy Cruiser #TAM31343TAM31342 IJN Mikuma Heavy Cruiser #TAM31342TAM31341 'Mogami' Japanese Cruiser #TAM31341

TAM31342 IJN Mikuma Heavy Cruiser #TAM31342

Any info on these kits would be appreciated, as well as on the Mogami...

build of the Tam Suzuya

http://www.steelnavy.com/Tamiya%20SuzuyaBDL.htm

this page:

http://www.quuxuum.org/rajens_list/shiprevs.html#Tamiya

choose TAMIYA on the first page and takes you to the TAMIYA page with a list of what the molds came from

  • Suzuya (IJN CA) {31311} [1/700] (WW2) WL

    Old Mold

    Suzuya (IJN CA) {77003/No.3} [1/700] (WW2) WL

  • OK. Clumsy look - this one needs retooling. Late war fit, with lots of (oversized) light AA

  •  MIKUMA - no info

  • Mogami (IJN CL/CA) {31312} [1/700] (WW2)

    Old Mold

    Mogami (IJN CL/CA) {77007} [1/700] (WW2)

  • New Mold

     hope it helps a bit
