Weren't the black funnel caps painted at an angle to match the rake of the funnel? I have her sister ship the Shiranui (Nichimo) and am excited to begin. Strange also is the red propellers. Were they painted anti-fouling red from the shipyard or a left a natural bronze colour?

Thanks guys! My Kagero is presented in early war configuration. My references indicate the funnel stripes were painted out for combat. I added a Tom's Modelworks P/E set for the railings and various fittings and opened up the solid molded lattace work amidships.

They were a pre-WWII design. Only one of the class survived the war (Yukikaze) out of the nineteen built. They were good ships for their day. Yukikaze was transferred to the Chinese at the end of the war and was decommisioned in 1970.

I love those large scale destroyers! Your's looks great! How much detail did you add to the kit? Are all the railings added on?

Getting down to the end. A few bits to add, touch up paint, and add rigging.

I really like this scale - I'm thinking of trying out a paper kit. I've seen several BBs in this scale and they look incredible!

Thanks for lookin'
