This is part of the Hobby that you just can't explain.  Reminds me of running down the UPS truck that I just KNEW had MY just released,pre-ordered,prayed about,1:16 Tamiya Tiger with full R.C. options, etc.after 9 months of incense, insomnia, and sacrifices.  Truck was able to be hauled out of the ditch with just scratches. And the Tiger WAS aboard!! (we got a new UPS driver on our route the next week). Perhaps the most memorable model delivery of my life!!

Little O/T - Snap gets his Italeri S-Boat

Ok Chaps, A little O/T light (or lite) relief.

After morning band rehersal and a quick light lunch I was able to get onto a train. After changing at Leeds and a mad sprint round the station, up and down 2 platforms I finally made it by a short head onto the correct train and so alighted at the right station.

I ran through the station car park, negotiated a major road ignoring traffic and pedestrian light signals, staggered up a cobbled street to Halifax's Piece.. or Peace Hall (Yorkshire, England.... not Canada) to fetch up with a loud crash and curse against a large structure  that wasn't there the last time I visited.

After picking myself up off the floor and cursing "Which idiot put this Censored [censored] Censored [censored] Censored [censored] Ice rink here!"

It took precious extra seconds to negotiate the huge monstrosity and I burst through the model shop door, still panting. and trying to shout "Where is it?"

After managing to understand me on the eighth time the owner said "Down the back of the shop!"

So I set off... "Pardon me, excuse me, pardon me, excuse me..... out of my way.... shift your butt.. THAT'S MINE!" and rugby tacked a 8 year old who was staring at the huge box!

It was a big struggle in a small shop but I managed to wrestle the box away from the kid and hid until the crying stopped!

After negotiating paints and payment I fled into the dusk with a large box and bag of paints before the police could arrive... yes response times suck here too!

I was really careful and sneaky the way I got it into the house and up to my hobby room (where no woman dare tread because of the mess). If SHMBO finds out you can all come to my funeral.

Hope you had a smile,

James
