Question about Measure 33 16d
Posted by dcaponeII on Friday, November 28, 2008 7:19 PM
I've got a Trumpeter Baltimore and the three-view with the kit shows the deck is uniform deck blue in color.  However I have another three view sketch that shows that the deck has more than one color.  Also I have a black and white photo that appears to show the deck as being more than one color as well.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?  Dazzle on the deck or not?

Are you actually doing Baltimore herself or a sister ship? It's not quite clear.

We've got the pattern over at the ShipCamouflage.Com database, but the only clear pictures I can find of Baltimore in dazzle are shipyard photos; and the deck is usally the last thing painted or worked on due to the beating it took during overhaul with supplies being loaded, etc., so they're generally not good indications of whether or not a ship had a pattern on the deck.

I'm doing the Baltimore itself.  I only found the one picture but there's a three view sketch on the website you mentioned and it's what shows two different colors on the deck.  This is my first ship and I'd like to get it as close as possible.  If it was an aircraft this wouldn't be an issue for me but I know so little about ships and it's been nearly impossible to find ANY color photos on the internet.  Lot's of B&W but nothing in color (YET!!)
