Beautiful model - and anybody who thinks the price is extravagant ought to work it out on a per-hour basis.  This guy isn't going to get rich by selling models for prices like that.

I used to be proud of the fact that, having been born near-sighted, I didn't need much in the way of magnification to pursue my hobby.  (I had trouble recognizing my wife from across a room, but I could build models without any sort of optical help.)  Now that I've entered the bifocal years I can't do that any more - and the need for magnifiers is driving me crazy.  Well, come to think of it, several facets of post-middle age are doing that....

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

Here's the link so no one need search for it.

And yeah, we all use quite a number of optical tools to get in close. And patience.

And no caffeine.

When I realized that the model was in 1/700 scale, my brain jumped 24 inches to the left and started to yammer. Wow, what a job!

Has anyone seen this built model of the Fuso on ebay (type IJN FUSO in search and you'll see it)? The level of detail is absolutely incredible. I don't know how you folks build in this scale unless you use a microscope or a tool makers scope with an lcd. I have a hard enough time with 1/350 scale and my optivisor. Also the price for this model is about $1500.00 but I guess it's almost worth it. Once again this is a beautiful model/diorama.
