Airfix's Iron Duke conversions

I think it might be very tricky to convert the Iron Duke into the Agincourt!  As I recall, Agincourt had seven 12" turrets (as against five for Iron Duke), as well as a pretty unique superstructure and a skinnier hull too!  You might be able to convert Iron Duke into some of the other five-turret class ships though..... If you are looking for a good basic hull, deck, turrets, etc to kitbash a Queen Elizabeth-class ship, you might get a hold of a 1/500 scale Royal Sovereign battleship (Eastern Express has been producing these, and there is one available on Ebay right now).

Iron Duke was armed with ten 13.5" guns; the Agincourt had fourteen 12". And, superstructure layout was vastly different, as was the hull. I think it would be easier to scratchbuild the Agincourt than to convert the Airfix Iron Duke.  Then again, doesn't Combrig make a 1/700 Agincourt as well as each of the Iron Duke class?

Not to worry, I've gotten copies of the IPMS UK article about the Iron Duke (x2 kits) to Agincourt conversion and some other WWI subjects courtsey of a very generous gentleman.  Now all I have to do is find the modeling time...

i 3rd that as i have 2 iron dukes of which i've glued the hull of 1 together recently.
