Yes, the Porter (DD800) was a square-bridge Fletcher.   Either of the two kits you suggest would be a starting point for the subject.

In addition, in 1:350 scale you could go with the Trumpeter "The Sullivans".   It has a few issues but would make into your subject without any extra conversions.

In 1:700 scale you coulsd also check the Trumpeter Sullivans.  It's quality is better than its 1:350 cousin, probably since it was actually made by PitRoad.   PitRoad also sells a USS Callaghan under their own label.

And since bigger is better, Iron Shipwright makes a square-bridge Fletcher in 1:192 scale resin & brass as the Johnston.

Hello I was trying to find out if there is kit of this available?  I found a 350th YMW fletcher dd 545 USS Johnston and was wondering if this could be used? Also found a Tamiya 700th DD 797 Cushing. Any help would be apperciated.
