Manstein's Revenge,

Were you able to get the Type VII?  If not, just click the lead that I provided. It will take you right there.

Revell 1/125 Sub U99 U-Boat RVL05054 Store: MyAtomic Hobbies

My mistake.  The cut-away Type VII is the U-99, Kretchmer's boat.  It is being sold on Ebay at the above store with a "Buy It Now" price of $18.79.

I believe its the old Revell 1/125 Type VII that was offered as a cut away and a Gunther Prien model. I think it even had a couple of crew members. I've seen it on eBay now and then. Check this one out at 1.144 scale.

In the 1976 Revell catalogue they show two cut away sub models.

One is U-47. They do not give its size in the catalogue, but the kit number is H-384.

The other sub is the Polaris Nuclear Submarine, length 18 inches. The kit number is H-437.

Revell released two different cut-away U-Boats; the 1/125 Type VII and the 1/144 Type XXI.  They also released (now re-released) a U.S. George Washington (SSBN 595) with interior. Hope it helps!

Cut-away U-Boat???
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 10:13 AM

When I was a kid I remember getting a U-Boat that was designed as a cut-away model...it had all of the major interior elements that you could view, as the hull was already cut-away...I believe it was 1/96th scale or maybe 1/100th...maybe even 1/144th...and I believe it was a Revell offering...Anyone know of this kit and if it is still available???

With all of the revived U-Boat interest I would think it would sell again, especially since it is smaller than the new 1/72nd scale offering and already comes w/ a basic interior...
