Trumpeter 1:200 USS Arizona

As noted in the post the price of $0.00 doesn't indicate that it will be free,  it indicates that the MSRP hasn't been established.   Note to the TBA release date.    Trumpeter typically does not announce their release dates and MSRP prices until within 90 day of the fact.  Given this information, I wouldn't expect it in the first quarter of 2009.

I have also heard that their big expensive kits have not sold up to their initial expectations and with the global economic turndown they could be holding off on the release of more expensive subjects.

Just found this info on the website for DiscountPlasticModels.com.  It is NOT good news folks!

They are quoting a MSRP of $999.00, with their price of $798.99.  OUCH!  I hope this is just speculation on their part and they really don't have any hard evidence yet. I went to this link and typed "arizona" in their Search Box.  This model came up as the first one listed.  Maybe someone can check a little deeper???

My thought is that the site you posted uses 999 bucks as their default MSRP for items which are not released and have no real data.   Other sites put in 0.00 (no they're not really free!).  The site's software then automatically calculates their 20% discount and puts the value of 798 in their 'your price' window.   Eighty percent of nothing is still nothing -- but it doesn't look like your getting a deal

The big Arizona in styrene will be more expensive than a 1:350 offering,  but a grand is just not realistic.

Its still the first quarter of 2009, and Trumpeter still has not announced the intended date & MSRP.    The kit's release in the second quarter looks doubtful.   Additionally, there have been posts on other sites about the global economic situation and its impact on releases by other manufacturers such as Hasegawa and Tamiya.   I would not hold out hope for the kit until the economy turns around

That's what I was hoping. This price just sounds too screwy, so I was hoping this was the case.  It looks like a terrible business practice though.  Whoever thought it up should go back to business school.  I couldn't see how these people could have any info when there is still nothing new on Steven's International website.
