My thought is that the site you posted uses 999 bucks as their default MSRP for items which are not released and have no real data. Other sites put in 0.00 (no they're not really free!). The site's software then automatically calculates their 20% discount and puts the value of 798 in their 'your price' window. Eighty percent of nothing is still nothing -- but it doesn't look like your getting a deal
The big Arizona in styrene will be more expensive than a 1:350 offering, but a grand is just not realistic.

Its still the first quarter of 2009, and Trumpeter still has not announced the intended date & MSRP. The kit's release in the second quarter looks doubtful. Additionally, there have been posts on other sites about the global economic situation and its impact on releases by other manufacturers such as Hasegawa and Tamiya. I would not hold out hope for the kit until the economy turns around
