It is a reactor plant control panel. Whoever wants to ask the next question may feel free to do so. It doesn't matter to me.

Friends - I apologize for my inactivity.

I don't have any good questions off the top of my head, and my work is precluding any chance to poke into interesting reference books for an odd question.

Please make this one a toss-up - first person who wants to present a question should do so.

Correct!

This is a detail of a 1606 map by Benjamin Wright depicting the Thames River. Golden Hind is shown in ordinary, without masts and unrigged, near Deptford.
Surfsup, your turn,

Thats a very reasonable guess - but not the ship.

This vessel was far smaller - yet equally dangerous. She gained fame for a single voyage that changed global politics. Her captain's name is equally famous.

In hindsight it should be obvious. Hint hint.

Hint: the ship is shown on the banks of the Thames. She was "in ordinary" there for many years.

Also, she is world famous.

Well here goes.

This is a detail from a 17th c. map showing a river near a prominent city. There is a little ship crudely drawn in. What is she?

Woo Hoo! At last I answered a question correctly! Laugh [(-D]

I would appreciate it Surfsup if perhaps you post the next question. Since I am new here I'm not real sure how to post a picture. You go ahead, I don't want to hold things up.

Thanks.

I believe your avatar is the HMAS Sydney...sunk by the Kormoran in 1941.

HMAS Perth was sunk during the Battle of Sunda Strait in 1942 along with the cruiser USS Houston.

Sydney & Perth's only surviving sister was the HMAS Hobart.

How'd I go?

Ok Surface_Line.  Here is my Question. My avatar is a famous Ship because  something  happened to Her that did not happen to any other Warship. That is not the Question. What was her only surviving Sister out of three in the class. Two of the class sank during WW2.

i think that since enough time has passed any one could put up a question if they have one.

Hi ddp59. I think that there may be a few people waiting for the next question on this thread. Could you kindly oblige us with your offering. Thanks in advance.

Well done!  I was starting to despair.  The next hint was going to be a full photo of the ship with the hull number blacked out.   Perhaps the Trivia question on the other thread gave you a tip...
