I just hate having to order twice as much as what i think i might need from WEM so i don't short myself when painting.  I may just have to bit the bullet and do it.  That and i hate painting enamels.

Thanks

ModelMaster's Marine line of acrylic paints, now out of production, were developed to the same standard as the White Ensign paints (White Ensign's may be 1 generation more direct).   You may be able to order some direct from Testors,  but they are now very difficult to locate at LHS or online shops.

Since you say that close-enough is good-enough,  PollyScale makes some USN WWII Naval colors in their acrylic product line.   Close, but not as acurate as the WEM paints.   To my eye the 5H Haze Gray is too lavender,  the 5O Ocean Gray is pretty good, the 5N Navy Blue is too bright.

Next on build list is the Trumpeter 1/350 Yorktown and I would like to paint the 3 tone camo scheme.  I found that white Ensign models has the exact colors which is nice and always an option, but I paint with mainly tamiya and model masters acrylics and would prefer to stay away from enamels if i have too.

I was wondering if anyone knows "close enough" color matches in either tamiya or model masters acrylics.

Thanks as always to those who post.
