Good source for IJN paint schemes?
Posted by searat12 on Thursday, January 29, 2009 1:01 PM
I am hunting around for good source to identify paint schemes for several IJN warships.  I know there are four different color grays that were used, depending on the shipyard (Kure, Yokosuka, etc), and of course, ships would get repainted when they came in for servicing, etc. In the past, if I couldn't find out the color easily, I would just use Kure Gray as a baseline, but I would like to be a little more precise with future models.  I have a Yukikaze (1944), a Maya (1944), and a Kirishima waiting for me to get to them, so does anyone either know what color grays were used, or can someone direct me to a good source for future research?  Thanks!!
