  boxart looks  o.k, trumpeter might doing the moulding , as they have on the nimrod ,so i bet its got a big price tag, and as i was on the ark royal last month i think i would do her as that, anyway can't wait, keef666

The Airfix website also lists a 1/700 Titanic - but, curiously, lists it under "Gift Sets" rather than "New Tooling" (which is where the Illustrious appears).  I wonder if this one will be a reissue of the old (but, by all accounts, not bad) Academy kit. 

In any case, the two of them will mark Airfix's first forays into 1/350 and 1/700 scales.  I think that's good news.  So is the upcoming reissue of the Airfix 1/600 Iron Duke - a nice older kit (once the mysterious giant doughnuts are removed from the secondary battery) and one of the few WWI dreadnought kits in plastic.  Long live Airfix.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

I was hoping this was going to be the WWII Illustrious. But the modern one will do nicely too! Mischief [:-,]
