Have you tried contacting the museum at Mystic seaport?  That's where the Morgan ison display.  They should be able to answer any questions.

I haven't been there for a long time but I did get the ship's tour and it was surprising how small and cramped the ship was and you could still smell the oven they used.

I was reading the book on the CWM that I just got and on page 66-67 there are two pictures showing the ship. On page 66,  "In Port in New Bedford". And on page 67, showing the ship having her beams sealed with caulking (no note as to where).  I noticed that the yards are painted white.  At first I thought that it was a screwed up B/W photo, but you can clearly see the yards in the second picture no mistake on them being white.  Were these painted white after the re-fit to the "bark" rig?

I have two different versions I can do with the Revell kit, the early square rigged ship rig and the later version Bark rigged. All I'd have to do is sand down the "yards rings from the mast"  I think I would have to re-position a set of the davits for one of the whale boats though.   According to the book she changed and shifted or removed one of the boats.

Anybody got a date or idea when they were painted white?

Thanks

Jake
