I'm not too sure about those scales, however I do know Revell makes one in 1/400 and Heller makes one in 1/600.

*On a related note, I just recieved an e-mail from Revell telling me their going to replace the parts free of charge.Big Smile [:D]WooHoo!*

Long story short, I don't think this kit will be getting built anytime soon unless, Revell sends me a replacement hull and propeller shafts.

I recently got this kit out of the stash and found the propeller shafts and hull to be of terrible quality.Disapprove [V] Very, very bad molding with alot of detail being non-existent. Revell should be ashamed of their quality control. I tried sanding off the seams and fixing up the problems, but it made little headway. So I went onto painting hoping the problems might dissapear under a coat of paint......it didn't. Here's hoping Revell will send replacement parts free of charge for their bad manufactering. ARGH!

If they even think of charging me any sort of fee, for shipping or etc, this will be the end of me buying Revell products.Angry [:(!]

Hi!  I have done this one and three others as I find them . Please don,t ask why . I guess it,s because as my daughters say , even though details are lacking ,their dad got an attack of cuteshipitis . That is what they said . I just think for the size they are neat and a welcome break from everything else . As for price I paid about the same and only less on a maru of tamiya,s       tankerbuilder

If thats the REAL tiny one thats only about 6" long, I have a 1/2 built one sitting at home.

My idea was to build it and mount in a small glass case, then put on my desk.

I just drifted out of my 'liner' phase and haven't drifted back in yet.

Its a cute kit. Short on detail but what do you expect for the scale. 1 Piece hull is nice.

Enjoy!

Glad to hear someone else built a 1/1200 Revell kit, and had a good time building it.Smile [:)] As for my kit, I plan to start a WIP thread on my build as soon as I get around to it. Right now I'm building a scratch 1/32 Horatio Phillips steam-powered multiplane, so when I finish it, then I can start my QM2.

I built the Revell Germany QE2 in 1/1200 when I was getting back into the hobby.  It was a good choice, easy to work with, simple to build, and a great subject.  I also used an airbrush for the first time on this model.  I think you'll enjoy it...if I see the same QM2 kit I'll pick one up myself!

i seen one that was 1/400th at the hobby shop yesterday. it was huge. i know it doesn't help you any. but good luck on the ship. i think for the what you've got the price you paid is about on par with most revell kits in smaller scales.

Sorry cant help; have not built it nor have in my stash. I usually use Great models website as my guide to pricing... try over at ModelShipwrights (part of the  armorama/aeroscale family)?

Thanks to those, that took the time to at least look at the thread. I thought I'd at least get some sort of response.

1/1200 Queen Mary 2.........?
Posted by mg.mikael on Monday, February 16, 2009 2:50 PM

I'm usually on the dark side building armor, but the 1/1200 Revell Queen Mary 2 caught my attention at the LHS, so I picked it up for $16.58. Since I thought it would be a nice kit to "re-open the shipyards," the last ship I built was a 1/400 Academy R.M.S Titanic about two years ago, and that was the kit that first got me truly addicted to modeling. Thus I though it was about time I head back into the "shipyards".

Now with the point of this thread....anyone ever build this kit? Did I get this kit for a good price? Anyone have any tips or suggestions on building this kit? Or does anyone know of any reviews of this kit online? Question [?] All info would be greatly appreciated.Cool [8D]
