card/papermodels
Posted by tankerbuilder on Monday, March 2, 2009 9:09 AM
i did a post yesterday on the beatiful covermodel of the KONIG . i mentioned the fact that papermodels from various firms would fill the gaps and i misquoted . the ( nautilus of jules verne) was not put out by j.f. schreiber . it , and many more are from the deutsches schiffahrtsmusuem in bremerhaven . all these and more if you,re curious can be had from P.M.I. international in beaverton ,oregon . if you need a ship to fill a hole in your fleet ,these models can fill the gap . they can be upgraded with photoetched materials and plastic parts . to really get a feel for the way a ship is built you might want to give them a try . thanks .........tankerbuilder     p.s. they have ships from 1/400 all the way to 1/250 and 1/100 . i don,t know how many might be found in 1/350 . hope this helps ...

HELLO YOU,ALL  !!!  Hey don,t be worried . Although P.M.I. may be closing up shop there,s no reason to fret . You can get any papermodel you want by ordering direct . P.M.I. was a greatsource , don,t get me wrong . I have enjoyed many fine hours because of what I was able to buy from them ,plus outstanding customer service ! They will be missed . If I was 20 years younger and healthier I would have tendered an offer but , as they say , When you just get things right then you get blindsided . Mine was a drunk driver and a loved ones alzheimer diagnosis in one week . No new businesses for me . I do hope that if they find a buyer that the new proprieter is as customer oriented. This is just another sad thing with getting older , we have to learn to adjust ..      tankerbuilder      P.S. let,s just build great models , ok ?
