The detail is very good on this kit. Due to the cost I only bought the PE set that comes with the railings and had thought about getting the other set that has the individual railings/hand holds that wrap around that massive funnel. However, I decided not to get it as the molded on ones are quite convincing. I may still get the set with the safety netting but have been thinking about trying to use some of the netting from another set I have for another unbuilt carrier that I haven't gotten to yet. I won't decide until I get to that point which is a long ways away. There are a lot of parts in this kit!

Yes, possibly later tonight I'll post larger pictures of the ones I previously posted. I just picked the medium sized ones for photo bucket as I was concerned if there was a size limit.

I'm looking forward to your progress as well!  I've got the kit too, but I have other projects in front of mine, so I haven't started it yet.  I just keep getting the hull out of the box and playing with it.

Did you buy any of the Hasegawa PE sets for yours?

could you add some larger picture of the ones that you have posted? if i click on the pictures that you supplied they are the same size. thanks for sharing i seen this kit at my LHS and was blown away by the detail and the price

Yes, as I progress on this build I'll add some closer up pictures. Right now there isn't much detail to see. I was trying to get the whole model in the pictures to show the camoflague on both sides. My camera is great at close ups but the lens isn't wide enough to get the whole profile except at a distance. It's interesting in that the Japanese were trying to paint pictures such as the profiles of merchant ships on the side of their carriers in an attempt to fool our submarines into thinking the target wasn't worthy of their efforts. I believe they found out the hard way that this didn't work. Thank you for viewing.

I have a friend who might find this interesting.  His thing is IJN ships...no matter how hard I try to convince him to try aircraft or even other era and nationality warships .  One request...could we get some larger size pictures? I would really love to see some detail on her!
