My Italeri S-100 (Final update)

The Azimut crew are nearly all completed and I am fitting them to their gun stations:

For the purists among, yes, I know that the orange lifejackets are hideously anachronistic but they do pull the attention to the guncrew. Just the bridge crew and some knick-knacks to do and then this project will have run its course

I heard the the German Navy changed its uniform regs and did away with the officer's white cover.  The only folks that got away with wearing it was the Uboaters.

I was told over on the ModelShip forum that the white cap was used in the summer and the blue cover in the winter. I tried white on the Alpine figure but changed it to blue later on. Thanks for the looking at the build,

All things come to an end and the S-100 is finished as far as I am concerned at this moment. It has kept kept me busy from November 2008 until May 2009. Here some last screenies before it gets put on a shelf to gather dust:

Thanks very much Keith, mrs. Grem56 hates my model stowage as they attract dust and I don't like having them dusted . Stepping over to the "dark side" ( as the gentlemen at the armor forum refer to it) for a change of venue and techniques for the time being.

I dont know if I missed this info, while drooling over the pics, but could you tell me the dimensions of the awesome project.

Have you considered putting your beautiful builds under glass or plexiglass cases to keep the dust off? Outstanding job done on the S boat and crew.

Hi there Holdenmaniac, Plastic junkie, Nate and Jet modeler:

This is a build I finished last year. It's the Italeri 1/35th Schnellboot and it kept me amused for about 6 months. They probably would look better under glass but I am too lazy to build display cases. There is one change I want to make to this build: I have the Cammet set of sea mines and I would like to fit them instead of the depth charges that are on board now. Thanks for the kind remarks,

That's one awesome build and display you have there Julian. Really nice. I can appreciate the size of the kit as I have a friend here that's also completing his build and I've seen it up closed and personal.

I've only done an Airfix 1/72 early version S Boat and will start on the Revell S boat partly due to the inspiration gotten from your build.

You've done quite a lot to it especially adding the figures. Nice touch.
