Your Frigate is looking great. I'd be interested to know who makes that kit. I've seen a kit of this class represending the Australian Oliver Hazzard Perrys in service, but the maker escapes me.

How about some more pics!

Academy recently released an 1:350 injection molded Perry Class frigate. It may not be the best, but it is a lot cheaper than any Resin version. It seems like a very good kit if you don't mind the thicker plastic railings.

HI everyone , the kit I have was/is made by a company called modelcraft...looks like thier kit number 3001. it is a kit that can be motorized....and has parts included for a Taiwanese version....the company is out of Burnaby BC Canada....and I picked it up at one of the 3 LHS that I go to.....I dont remember what I paid for it though....this kit is depicts the long hull version....with this kit one could build the following  ships FFG 8,28,29,32,33 and 36-61.  As I'm still working on this I'll try to post more and closer pics .....Gary

Yep, it helps alot Gary. I am about to start a Ticonderoga class cruiser and wasn't sure what color the hull should be. I do now! Thanks for the info, I really wanted to use all Tamiya acrylics too for this project.

Thanks again! Smile [:)]

If anyone wants to build the Perry as the Australian version. The Grey used on the real vessel has a slight Green Tinge to it. RLM Grey would be a pretty close match to that colour.

The Royal Australian navy uses a slightly different Shade of grey to the US Navy, so it pays to do some research. Not all greys are the same and each navy has it's own particular colour they prefer to use. When first commissioned into service with the RAN, it was a slight green tinge to that colour that caught my eye, and noticed it on quite a few other Australian Warships. Whether they still use that colour is something I am not sure about. I saw one of our Fleet Oilers berthed her in Brisbane and it was a different shade of gray again. So it is a matter of choice for yourself what colour you wish to use.
