Some threads have been inactive for years, but remain on the site because they contain information to those that seek it.  I often use the 'search' function when I have a particular question first before starting a new thread, as often someone else has had just the same question in the past, and it has been thoroughly answered too!  Generally, if you flip back more than about four pages and see a thread there, it is most likely a 'dead thread' that is no longer active (but still contains good info for future use!).

I do so much enjoy talking to fellow modelers on this site .  I do know that some joke about it ,but I must ask . How long are posts left in a thread usually?  I ,Like many do answer them because date of original post notwithstanding , the cry for help ,or the kind which are "hey guys ,how,d I do??" picque my curiosity . I was away from modeling as a hobby for so long ,it,s timeless to me .The info we share is also timeless ,maybe altered by time and what,s out there but, it is nice to be able to exchange ideas .Many times I,ve replied to a post and then realised how long ago it was posted .I still don,t mind as just sharing brings out the best in the modeling genre ..      tankerbuilder
