HLJ is a good outfit, and I have bought kits from them before.  But if you are looking for those old Lindberg kits, the best place to find them at the best price is on Ebay (make sure the seller accepts Paypal!).

J-HULK   : I will give anyone a fair chance , believe me . My bias might be because of certain failed transactions with other companies . I just don,t have the cushion financially to not get a product I pre-paid for . I therefore keep my choices close to home , I will give them a try ,and if I upset you or anyone by my comments I do appologise .All I want to do is find what I want at a fair price and be able to enjoy it.     tankerbuilder

The other is , when I paid for a product it either never arrived ,or , it was so damaged as to not be useful . I think I might try a snail mail to MODEL EXPO .Thank you for your help . I may have to try them if all else fails . Thanks again  j-hulk      tankerbuilder

Hiya Tankerbuilder,
Weeeellll, my opinion about HLJ might be a wee bit biased, since I work there! Said that, however, I honestly believe we are one of the best and most reliable Internet hobby shops in the world. Ask around here or at other modeling sites, and I'll think you'll hear plenty of good things about HLJ.

But! I'll be the first to say you could probably find some non-Japanese items for better prices elsewhere...We sell most non-Japanese stuff (such as Lindberg, Revell, and Airfix) at the standard domestic Japanese retail price as set by the domestic Japanese distributors (not HLJ), which can be pretty high. Products we import directly (such as Midship Models and Yankee Modelworks) we can sell at much more competitive prices, since we're not tied to any domestic retail pricing on those manufacturers.

Anyway, good luck finding your minesweeper, and if you do decide to go with HLJ, thank you very much!

I have seen these several times on eBay. They come and go. You might also try Model Expo on line.

I am doing this in this manner because I have had no luck here . Here is in NEW BRAUNFELS ,TX.  I have checked HOUSTON ,SAN ANTONIO and AUSTIN and NOBODY has even heard of them . the models are LINDBERGS , MINESWEEPER and COAST GUARD CUTTER . J LLOYD (LINDBERGS PARENT ) says most ,if not all of the hobby outlets in TEXAS use the same wholesaler . Yet when I inquire nobody,s heard of these kits . So I have to use this method  . If you know where in tx . I can find them or if you maybe have some for sale then e-mail me at gjgeracci@satx.rr.com   I have a client who wants a certain type of ship and I can save time and money (his ) if I use the minesweeper as a starting point . thanks     tankerbuilder .  P.S. I have tried the list of collectible vendors in fine scale and scale auto with no luck .
