Why not just log into the forum from a different computer and edit it there?

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

I presume your avatar image is no bigger than 150x150 and on your computer. According to the post, whose link I gave, these appear to be the main requirements. If so then better minds than mine are required.

Dear Davros: I have tried to use "update profile," but I still get the same results,"server not responding," on my computer. I guess I have to do with out an avatar. Thanks for your advice.

for #2. it would depend on the orginal size of the photo that you have taken with your digital camera. in your camera's settings you can pre-select the size of the picture. Also it could depend on what you are selecting from the pciture from flickr. i've seen people just copy and paste the thumbnail pictures frokm the folders. if you do that then you're only going to get a very small picture. make sure you copy the pictures url for the larger size. if you want to resize an uploaded picture then just click the resize tab and set the size you want. just remember that if you are going up in size then the picture quality will not be as great. hope that helps.

Can't help with #2 as I use Photobucket and Fotopic for my photos but regerding setting your avatar; you will find it in "Update Profile". This thread in "Community Assistance" may help you further.

To all you computer geeks and web surfing wizards, I would appreciate some technical advice on how to solve two problems that I have encounted on my computer.

Problem #1: How do I post my avatar on the Forum ? When ever I try to post an avatar I have selected, a page appears on my computer that reads,"time out period. Server is not responding." The problem must be on my computer, as I have noted that other viewers have been successful in posting their avatars. Any suggestions ?

Problem #2: In the near future, I would like to post pictures of my kit model of the British East Indianman, "Falmouth." The hull is completed and ready for rigging. I would like to enlarge these pictures from my digital camera onto the Yahoo Flickr picture hosting site, then to the Forum. What is the procedure to enlarge my photos ?

Any and all advice from the Forum viewers would be greatly appreciated.
