Members Model Photo Thread
Posted by surfsup on Monday, May 4, 2009 3:44 AM

Hello to my fellow Ship Forum Readers. Just wanted to gauge what everyone would think if a dedicated Model Photo Thread was set up so we can display some of our works to other Members and fellow modellers. It is only a thought as I have seen similar threads set up on other Forums. Seeing other peoples work, We can gauge where we need to improve our own work with constructive comments and to inspire others into building something, or improving their own Standards.

The Floor is now open to suggestionsSmile [:)]

Sure, I'd back that idea. I am about to get back into building ships after a long stretch building cars/trucks. I'd be very interested to see how everyone builds and details their ships.

I thought the Finescale Modeler Forum is the purpose of displaying member's models and work progress by submitting photos. As it stands, the Forum seems to be more of a gossip station rather than a photo op.

Montani semper liberi !   Happy modeling to all and every oner of you.

Have to  agree with Enemeink and Crackers here. I have posted a couple of WIP threads here and didn't get busted by the "Forum Police". Things are very leniant here if you behave yourself. Most important thing to me is that it feels comfy and warm, like an old overcoat, and the regulars are a very nice and very intelligent bunch of people to pass the time with here. If not necessary I have no urgent need to move elsewhere.

I've posted a complete ship, once, and have an ongoing build called "Regarding T2 tankers" that I just haven't gotten to in a few weeks, but there seems to me to be a pretty regular flow of builds. One thing I haven't seen in a while is too many group builds for ships, but those are a commitment of time. I'm pretty happy with things, and I'll tell you, even with FSM's high standards everywhere in the Forum, these calm seas have often been a place of refuge from other threads on this site.

Photos are ALWAYS welcome!!!  Any contributions you have are MOST welcome! And anything regarding ships that you wish to discuss, or get clarification on, THIS IS THE PLACE!  Seriously, there are more 'rivet counters' to get specific details about specific ships on this site that are really forthcoming with info, I think you would be hard-pressed to find another site as helpful!  In any case, welcome aboard!  As for myself, I am currently working on about half a dozen different models at the same time that I would be happy to show photos of, or discuss....
