U-Boot VII C
The U-Boot VII C kits are now being shipped to retailers. This completely new development is a real eye-catcher, not only due to its size but, due to the scale, also incorporates excellent detail. A particularly impressive feature is the detail of the body's riveted and welded seam structures. The flood valves and ports are also shown.
There are enough decals to build six different versions. These are the U-69, U-82, U-203, U-253 and U-552 of both an earlier and later design. For several days now, there have also been some fantastic photos of two completely built models in our photo gallery that give an idea of the incredible potential packed into this unusual kit (www.revell.de/en/modelkits/submarine/index.php).
As is the case with the two slot cars, the entire first production series of the U-Boot has been ordered by the retail stores. So it's worth making sure you've ordered your models at your local dealer in good time, since there will be no more shipments made this year.

Holy cow!.....I think they mean it!......its going to be worse than a red light special at SEARS the day after thankgiving!......I'm sure glad I pre-ordered mine

Well, I have to believe that the after market folks will do some nice things in resin for this kit. Looking at the photos I can see several opportunities for improvement, mostly in the tower.

Some great opportunities for kit bashers as well. As you would expect from an injected molded kit the railings on the deck and tower are a bit thick. Creating some new ones out of brass or copper shouldn't be too difficult.

I don't know if Revell included any figures in this kit but that could be another great opportunity.

Revell created a great kit to work with. Can't wait to get mine!

Figures?....funny you should say that:

Czechmaster 1/72 U-Boot Figures - News

WEM have the first set of figures in for the Revell GmBH 1/72 U-Boot.
This is what they have posted on their web site:
----------------------------------------------------
We've just taken delivery of the first set of Czechmaster 1/72 U-Boat Crew Figures. These are crisply done in injection moulded resin, and Set 1 consists of three figures, two officers plus a lookout with binoculars. Take a look (see link below). The price is GBP 3.66. Two other sets have been announced. Set 2 will be another three figure set, while Set 3 will be ten figures at rest. Should bring that Revell U-Boat nicely to life.

Does anyone else find it odd that while the Captain, dressed in a nice uniform and casually sipping tea, the lookout is decked out in foul-weather gear?
