I just found out that I'll be attending the AWWA Conferance in San Diego, CA. June 14-18, 2009
I know I'll spend most of one day at the Maritime Museum in the Harbor, going nuts over the vessles.   http://www.sdmaritime.com/

Lunch is always flexible and dinner is anyone guess.

I'll be staying at the W San Diego 421 West B Street. Anybody want to meet and greet over lunch or dinner?  I'll have my lapton and can get emails. Looking forward to meeting fellow members, if possible.

Jake

It's possible but i think i might be end up in Utah for some much needed r&r...

my wife and I are actually headed down to San Diego over the weekend. we live about 2 hours inland. if you can i would suggest taking a cruise on the Californian if you have the time. you get to help haul lines and set sails if you choose. i've been out on the Lynx and the Californian both were very funny.

There's another museum about a mile down the bay is the USS Midway. you can easily spend alot of time on the aircraft carrier and get lost. if your interested go to http://www.midway.org/

another place to go would be the Coronado Island and walk around the historic Hotel Del Coronado. it's beautiful (& expensive) the beaches are quite in the evenings and the sunsets are amazing.

for some really good mexican food you should venture on over to Old Towne. there are a lot of good restuarants over there. my favorite just reopened under the name Casa De Reyes. hopefully thier menu is just as good. i'll post up some pictures after i get back.

and if you want to venture away from the water (which i don't see why) you could go over to balboa park. tons of museums there and the zoo in case you're interested.

edit- i forgot to add pictures
