How many of you have this kit? Those of you that do have undoubtedly discovered the tripod foremast top is to large out of scale. A quick way to tell, is this kit also comes with the tops for the Arizona kit as well which are more the right size.

So I think what Im going to do is use one of the tops for the Arizona modified like they did on the real thing. I also gotta make the platform just under the top smaller too. Also, WAY to large in the kit. As you can see in the picture here of her on her way to Bikini Atoll for the Atomic tests, the top is much smaller than represented in the kit's parts, as is the platorm below. Otherwise than that, The kit is gonna be a blast!!

Your completely right. The tower is a major area that needs work done. Im in the finishing stages of making this kit myself. there are numerous innacuracies in this kit that can benafit from a bit of scratch work.

Its important to set it in a particular time setting. Eg box art is wrong, It never had a dish radar at Ewo Jima for example.  Note all that cool radar mast assembley . I scratch built mine and it looks great. The missing catwalks to the rear 40mm gun towers and the associated deck ladders looks busy and pretty cool if you add them too.

Theres a lot of really small but satisfying alterations required of this model. I wish you all teh best and have fun :)
