Mark 6 Depth Charges
Posted by CruiserBruiser on Saturday, May 30, 2009 7:33 AM

Anyone scratch build these in 1/35 scale?  If quality work, I'll compensate for resin copies...

Thanks in Advance    Randy

here's a great site about Mk 6 DC:

http://www.pt103.com/PT_Boat_Components_Depth_Charge.html

If you think there is a real inerest in Mk6 DC sets, we might be interested in creating: Acurate Model Parts (AMP)

Heaps of folks want Mk6 Depth Charges? Racks/launchers?

Let us know.

Yes, ... there is a need for the Mark VI in 1:72, 1:96 and 1:35.  And, for SO-Type and SO-3 radar masts as well.

Have you reached out to U-Models to see if they have any they can sell to you?  They are a European company distributing only in Europe to my knowledge.  But they make a nice 1/35 depth charge for the Italeri PT boat.  You wont see them on his web site.  After their link I've put a link to Blast Models who carried them but are currently out.

Hi Garth,

I've read your article on PTs a while back, excellent stuff! Do you mind if I PM, because I'd like to kick an idea around with you...

HR Products (available through the Floating Drydock) offers a 1/32 scale Depth Charge with PT launch rack.

"I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: 'I served in the United States Navy.'"

True. However, HR Product's quality is not up to today's standards. Garth

A 1/32 depth charge would be noticeably different than a 1/35 one.  As an example I ordered what I was told was a 1/35 20mm Oerlikon that turned out to really be 1/32.  It was huge compared to the 1/35 version.  It doesn't seem like a big difference but it would stick out.
