Anybody built a Bearco Marine Ore Boat?
Posted by rockythegoat on Saturday, June 6, 2009 10:39 PM
Anyone out there built one of the Bearco Marine 1/87 ore boats or seen a review or built up of one?  In particular The Fitz, as it is the most modern of the available boats, plus, even thought it is not the correct length, it will fit better in the area I have available.  Thinking of scoring one for my model RR.

I guess the reply I gave you didn,t post . So here goes. The ships in question are by their very nature large . The "FITZ " is gorgeous but the length will stop you cold . 1/87 for a ship works out this way . I do model ships for model railroaders and the last one I did was of a 689 footer .The model was almost 4.25 feet long . If you can ,put it at the back of the display and build scenery (buildings, factories ,etc) up to it . You are versed in diminishing perspective I take it??  I would recommend that you get info from BEARCO before commiting to this project .    tankerbuilder
