Tora tora tora DVD
Been meaning to mention this awhile now. The latest T T T release, is filled with behind the scenes add ons with some pretty amazing stuff. remember the attack on wheeler and the guy so convincing as he runs/ crawls out of the warhawks path?. That aint acting kids!, an SPFX stunt gone awry the P 40 is really running amuck, the guy is really in fear of death. when I would catch it on TV I'd always think where did Fox find a japanese battleship?. Nope they actually built a 1to1 model of Nagato, the whole bloody thing W/L up. that was the Japanese filmmakers big contribution to the historical epoch. If you ever thought of adding ToraX3 to your stash you won't be disapointed. Also the new release of "The battle of Britan" in my opinion the best cinamatic WWII historic treatment ever. It seems they chose to digitally improve the films only hard to swallow feature, those abysmal gun flashes that marred most of the best choreographed air combat shots ever concieved. where as before a technique called 'emulsion scratch" an animator litterally scratches the film of the master print leaving a blue white scrawl emiting from the guns when projected. No more and its much more watchable for it.
The devil is in the details...and somtimes he's in my sock drawer. On the bench.
