Does anybody out there have a photo, or even size/dimensions of the aircraft tie-downs used on the carriers of the IJN in the Second World War. I have a rough idea of what they look like but I have some questions. Is the centre barm round or square? Is there a visible weld seam? What's underneath, a bowl shape? Is there a lip around the circle? I'm hoping to construct one to form part of the base for the Miniature Alliance Japanese pilot figure, a nice figure by the way.
Best I can do is post some pictures of the Eduard 1/48th IJN plastic deck... perhaps they will help. I have no idea as to the plank dimensions, et al., but I have this deck and could measure them and the tie-down radius if you'd like.

It's (discontinued) product 8803 if you want to do some more looking.

Hi there, Tracy White.
Those pictures of the Eduard deck are a good start! Would you mind measuring the diameter of the tie-downs and posting it? I'm still scouting about on ship sites and making inquiries of artifact dealers. But so far have come up with nothing. Thanks again for your help.
I've got a photo of deck crews untieing zeros on the Shokaku flight deck, but I couldn't figure out how to paste it into this message box.
