New book on 110' US Subchasers
Posted by weebles on Sunday, June 28, 2009 9:16 PM

Greetings all,
T. Garth Connelly just relased a book through Squadron Signal on this subject.  This book covers both WWI and WWII era 110' Subchasers and has some exceptional detail.  I've just started reading it but Garth has done a nice job of laying out the history of these boats and giving us some very nice detail.

The only kits out there that I'm aware of for this subject are the old Glencoe WWI offering in 1/74 scale, and a 1/700 WWII era model from Loose Cannon Productions.  Hopefully this book will generate some interest and we'll see more offerings of these special little boats.  I for one would love to see a WWII version of this boat in 1/72 scale.

Thanks Ed,

They have some subchasers but not the 110' class which is the subject of the book.

It may not be in the current catalog, but I've built it and have it sitting on the shelf.

Jon moves things into and out of the catalog, pending what sells and what shape the masters are in.

Thanks Ed,

That will be worth looking for.  Still want to see one at least 1/72.  :-)
