Artesania Latina 'Le Hussard'- trying to find info!
Posted by Billyboy on Friday, July 3, 2009 5:37 AM

Hi all. Recently received a part finished model as a gift of what is supposed to be a French ship of 1848, 'Le Hussard'. Here's a link to a nicely finished vessel; http://modelshipworld.com/phpBB2/gallery/album96/

I have no particular love for wood model kits, but would likle to try and finish this one as it is a very kind gift. Only thing is= I can find no type of real vessel that looks even remotely like this kit!!! I initially thought naval gunboats/ cutters of about 1840-50, but cannot find anything that matches it in layout (parrticularly that rounded stern) from any nation!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it could be based on?

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

Will
