Is there anyone, who builds an LPH?
Posted by 32-modeler on Friday, July 31, 2009 12:37 PM

Hello,

I´m building a large model of the "USS Guam", at this time I start to construate the plans, because there are no good plans available.

So, is there anyone, who builds this ship or one of her sisters? Does anyone know a builder of this ship?

I´m interested to colect more pics and reference materials and could eventually help.

Best regards

 Andreas

Iron Shipwrights makes a Guam (LPH-9) in 1:350 scale

http://ironshipwrights.com/ships_350.html

Its currently listed as unavailable/backorder.   Its a big and costly item.  Jon @ ISW would have to cast one up on demand

The Floating Drydock has plans for LPH-9 under there "G" Series Landing Craft.  Go to http://www.floatingdrydock.com/G.htm to find them.

Hi,

the plans of "Floating Drydock" are not complete.

I´ve got them for some years. The same plans I got from the US Navy, but they are not complete too.

Best regards Andreas

RAY BEAN, has a CD on that ship and her sisters. In about a month I'll be doing a scratchbuilt waterline of Okinawa. Photos of the ships are great. Good Luck to you.
