I only post this so you can look out for these little issues later on in different build.  First Overall it is a VERY GOOD build using the older 1/350 version of the MiniCraft kit. There were major mistakes with teh kit from the manfacturer - not your fault. 

You need to work on filling and covering the pin punch divots that are on a lot over the parts.   There is a brand of thread called Coats and Clark Button and Carpet  try that next time the scale is real close. Or you can use some bees wax to keep the "fuzz" down on regular thread. I wish the customer would have paid for the metal railings set.  It would have improved the look a lot.  Your gold stripe IS VERY GOOD, it took me 3-4 tries before I got the hand of it.

The trim painting is a little loose, nothing major, try after your paint dries pricking the spots with a #11 blade tip, it pops right off.

Your deck plank effect look real good.

Overall a very nice model!

Thank you for the complements and the tips, it is greatly appreciated, as this was my first ship build.

I had suggested the metal railings, but my client did not want to spend any more money on the project. Oh well....

As for the gold stripe, that was pretty simple for me. All that I did was buy a roll of various sized gold vinyl pin striping that is used on cars. It was fast, simple and inexpensive.

Hello Bill and thanks for the question.

I had made the Plexiglase case myself.

Any tips on how you built it. I have done them with wood frames but I like the clear corners for that unobstruted view.

Hi,

I have built acrylic fish tanks and such and planned on trying the same principles with plexi so get your results, no frame. Can you route plexi to get rounded corners?
